🎃Pumpkin Patches & October fun 🎃

Hi! I hope everyone is doing well ! I went ghost for a while, its been super busy and it is such a crazy time & honestly I took a break to focus on myself and so many other things. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to continue this blog or even Instagram, but I am still here pushing , lol 🤣 Its definitely harder than it looks. October is my favorite month I just love everything about it; the weather, the fall fashion, decor, etc. I am a huge Halloween fan as well! To top it off my youngest was born on Halloween so this year he will be 10! I cant believe time has flown by so quick, it makes me super sad that he is growing so fast and now double digits but I am also so very happy to see the young boy he is becoming. 😀

October is almost over, which makes me super sad but I wanted to share some cool places we have checked out this month. We have gone to two pumpkin patches , we visited two spooky houses here in Los Angeles California & we also went to Rogers Gardens in Newport Beach they have a super cool and cute Halloween boutique that I highly recommend checking out. Keep reading to see all the fun we had 🧡

The Irvine Park Railroad has a pumpkin patch and it is located at; 1 Irvine Park Rd, Orange, CA 92869. They do charge for parking and its a higher cost on the weekends and I hear it gets very busy so we ended up going on a weekday. I would say this is more for younger kids , my son still had a good time. They had a cute mini haunted house and different activities, you have to purchase tickets and I think they are a little pricey, but overall its a super cute pumpkin patch.

Frosty Forest pumpkin patch is located at ; 14861 Ramona Ave, Chino, CA 91710 & this one I would say is for little kids & bigger kids. They have rides , food, games, a huge corn maze, lots of photo ops, & so many different pumpkins. They do charge for entering and the corn maze is a separate cost and so are all the other activities. It was definitely worth it in my opinion. We had so much fun doing the corn maze , its a lot of walking but we laughed most of the time since we got lost throughout the whole thing. The do have workers in the maze that help you if you need it so that part is nice. Even my older son who is 16 didn’t complain too much, lol.

The top I am wearing is on of my favorite purchases for fall its by Free People and I love the print and color. They have a lot of different styles and colors ; https://shopstyle.it/l/bzjiQ ; https://shopstyle.it/l/bzjiR

The Spadena house also known as the “Witch’s house” located at 516 Walden Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 This is an iconic storybook style home that was originally built in 1921 , it looks so beautiful in person. Can you guess what movie it was in ? It was in Clueless! It has so many nice touches and it looks so much nicer in person. The area is also very nice and has amazing houses around it, and while we were there so many other people came to look at it. I was glad we were able to check it out.

The second home we visited was the American Horror Story House- Murder house ( from the first season) located at 1120 Westchester Place Los Angeles CA. If your a fan of this show please comment below, its always been one of my favorite shows so I was so excited to go see this house in person! My youngest son even thought it was so cool, this home is so big. I wished they would not have the fence around it but I think we can understand why. I also heard some of this season was filmed earlier this year at this location, while we were there people kept showing up.

Rogers Gardens is located at 2301 San Joaquin Hills Rd, Corona Del Mar, CA 92625 & this place is so beautiful I loved everything about it. They also have a restaurant which looks so cute I want to check it out next time, the Cabinet of Curiosities which is a little Halloween boutique is amazing. If your a Halloween fan you will definitely love it. They don’t charge to get in or for parking, and at the boutique you only purchase if you want to. They had a lot of decor that was unique and very cool, and this mini skull tunnel wall was my favorite. My youngest & I loved everything!

I am sad to see October gone😑 , cant believe it! This month flew by, but if we go to any other places before Halloween comes I will definitely post about it.

Thanks for reading & I hope you enjoyed my post 🧡 feel free to comment below if you have visited any of these, and what your favorite is. If you haven’t what place would you want to visit?

Summer 2021 ! Vacation time ! Making memories with my boys… 🚘🌞

Hi! I hope everyone is doing well & enjoying their summer so far.

We went on our first summer vacation last week & we had so much fun ! We stayed 4 nights in Santa Barbara, CA & we visited the cities around as well. We stayed at the Best Western Inn Santa Barbara, the room was very nice & staff was accommodating. The pool & jacuzzi were okay in size, when we arrived it looked very busy and crowded but overall it was fine. They even had washer and dryer to wash clothing if you needed too. Our suite had a fully stocked kitchen so you could cook and a fridge , coffee maker, microwave, & table to eat at. We did make breakfast every morning so we could save some money and we brought a lot of snacks which worked really well.

Traffic was a little heavy so we ended up going to downtown Santa Barbara the first day we arrived & just ate dinner and stayed local. We walked around , they have a lot of shops and food places to check out. We tried this gelato place that was so delicious😋 it was called Tondi Gelato and I highly recommend it!!

This romper is one of my favorite pieces & these Target sandals are amazing! Links… https://shopstyle.it/l/btD8Z (romper) https://shopstyle.it/l/bu4rl ( sandals)
My boys ❤ ; (right) My youngest son’s Jaws graphic tee from Target (https://shopstyle.it/l/bvJOT) is super cute , he loved it!

The next day we ended up driving to Solvang which was about 1 hour or so away , and this place is so cute! The small downside was it was extremely hot , lol it was 97 degrees! It did get a bit cooler through out the day but we made it and I loved it and my boys really liked it as well. It is much bigger than I thought… you can definitely spend the whole day there. They have these pancakes that we were told were so good but we ended up forgetting to go back and getting those so we bought their famous butter cookies which are 👌🏽 We also rented these Moke electric cars to drive around the town and they were so much fun! Its $49 an hour and seats 4 people and has blue tooth to play your music while your driving around town. If you go you definitely have to rent these😉

The following day we visited San Luis Obispo. I found they had so many shops , food and even bars. I think they have a lot of spots for college kids, but I still enjoyed it and my kids did as well. We checked out the bubblegum alley which was gross but also cool, lol. Its always nice to check out new places and have those memories. I always remind my kids that the memories and experience are so important and if you dont try or go new places you wont know if you like it. We shopped this super cute boutique and I found the cutest romper and the prices weren’t too bad. I love to go into these shops because they have items that you don’t find in the bigger more popular stores. We also ate at this Italian restaurant that was AMAZING it was called Giuseppe’s Cucina Rustica I definitely would recommend this place 100%! We were going to go to Pismo Beach but it was super foggy that day so we headed home.

This top from Aerie is so soft and comfortable (https://shopstyle.it/l/bvE3O)

The rest of the trip we hung out by the pool & jacuzzi & had so much fun. We also ended our last night going to dinner at this seafood place called The Drunken Crab ( similar to The Boiling Crab) in downtown Santa Barbara and it was so yummy! Another place I would recommend 😁👍🏽

I feel blessed and happy I was able to take my boys on this trip & that we were able to get a way for a bit and enjoy time together. We have more plans for this summer so hopefully I will be posting more on my blog.

Yummy Lasagna Soup 👌🏽😋

Hi! It’s a new day & a new week ! I hope everyone is doing great. Not sure about you, but I tend to scroll through TikTok on my downtime, lol. I ended up finding this lasagna soup recipe and it looked so good I had to give it a try. I wanted to share it because it honestly came out so delicious. I enjoyed it & so did my youngest son even though he isn’t a fan of tomatoes! 🙌🏽

All Ingredients pictured except for heavy cream & spices

Ingredients:

  • Italian sausage or ground beef ( I used a pound of both to make it more meaty & I loved how it came out )
  • Heavy whipping cream
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Mozzarella cheese, Italian cheese blend, & parmesan
  • Pasta sauce ( which ever is your favorite)
  • Chicken & Beef broth
  • Diced tomatoes ( 1 can is fine unless you really like tomatoes 😉 )
  • Lasagna noodles
  • Spices ( Salt, pepper, tomato bouillon, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, oregano, basil )

Directions:

Brown your meat ; I used minced garlic and chopped onions and seasoned it with garlic salt & pepper

Drain meat

In a pot add your meat, add pasta sauce ( I used the whole bottle) , add 1 carton of chicken broth & only half of the beef broth ( save the other half for when you reheat because the soup will thicken) , add diced tomato’s & crushed up lasagna noodles. Cover and let it cook about 8-10 minutes.

Make ricotta mixture; ricotta cheese, both cheeses & seasonings of your choice.

Add ricotta mixture to soup and heavy whipping cream

Put heat on high and let it cook about 5 minutes. Check and make sure your noodles are soft and the taste is to your liking.

Then enjoy !!

Thanks for visiting my blog & if you make this before let me know in the comments below.

📘 Keep them reading! More kid’s book finds

I hope everyone is doing well ! Is anyone else on Spring break ? My kids are just finishing up their spring break, it seems like they enjoyed it even though we did not plan a trip or vacation. We still stayed busy and had a lot of fun. 😁

I wanted to come on and share more books that I have found for my youngest son ( he is 9 years old). His reading level has gone up significantly, so I am super proud of him & want to keep him interested and happy to read. I took him to pick out some newer books and also bought him some for Easter as a part of his Easter gift.

All linked below 🙂

The Scary Stories to tell in the dark are a very old series from 1981; https://shopstyle.it/l/btqLx Who else can remember these? I loved them growing up & was so excited to see it being created into a movie, it came out a few years ago and to tell you the truth I am super sad I still haven’t seen it!! Being a HUGE horror movie fan I’m super upset with myself, lol but this blog isn’t about that so lets move on… I bought these for my son since he asked for them for his birthday last year and he has finished two of them, so he only has the 3rd one to finish. They seemed scarier than I remember so I was a little scared he would have bad dreams, but he was fine and he really has enjoyed them so far.

He ended up picking out a few Who is? / What was? books ( I really love these books for kids ) he chose What is the Story of Frankenstein? https://shopstyle.it/l/btqMW he personally didn’t like it as much as he thought he would, so I wouldn’t highly recommend that one, but I still wanted to share it. He really enjoyed the What is the Civil rights movement? book; https://shopstyle.it/l/btqMW he is so interested in that era. He also has so many Martin Luther King books he likes history which is awesome👍🏽

The new ones we just picked up for Easter are:

Who was John F Kennedy? https://shopstyle.it/l/btqMH , he started this one and so far really likes it a lot.

We have yet to read; Who was Selena ? https://shopstyle.it/l/btqLp & Who was Lucille Ball? https://shopstyle.it/l/btqMP

Inside of the Who Was Selena? book
Inside of the What was the civil rights movement?

I know it can be hard to get children to read, I try to have him read 20-30 minutes a day Monday to Thursday. Sometimes longer and sometimes an extra day it really depends, I always have him read out loud. I think its super important so that if there is a word he doesn’t understand I can explain it to him and help him sound it out or say it correctly. I don’t want him to just be reading but to also understand. Also try to ask them about what they read to make sure they are remembering what they are reading. I think once you have them on a schedule and keep going they get used to it & they end up liking it more especially if they are reading books that interest them.

Thanks for reading! Also if your not already follow me on Instagram.😉

Visiting Knott’s Berry Farm for the Boysenberry festival! 😁😋

I was super excited to take the kids to go check this out…enjoy some time together & of course have some good food. We had year passes a while back, but we never did the festival before so I was happy when I saw that they still were doing it this year. It’s going on until May 2nd & I highly recommend it! The cost is $45 for adults ( 5 tastings) & $20 for children between 3-11 (3 tastings). We went on a Friday and the hours were 12pm-8pm, we didn’t show up until after 4pm and we stayed till closing and it was perfect timing, the only thing is it was pretty chilly at night. I wasn’t sure how much food was going to be given for each taste, so we all picked different items and pretty much shared. I was surprised that by the end of it we were all so full. The rides are of course closed but they still have people dressed up in character ( they laugh & make jokes with the guest its very funny) , you can purchase items & also play games. My kids had a lot of fun & we all enjoyed the different foods🤍

My world 💙💙

I try to find things to do that look like fun for my oldest who is 16 & sometimes has his “teenager attitude” lol 🙄 who can relate ?? He told me he really enjoyed going, so that made me feel good.

To be honest all the food was very good, the funnel cake & fries were my fave’s! My oldest loved the mac n cheese bites with tater tots, but I wasn’t able to take a picture of those ☹ I did try to take pictures of most of the food (see below)

Both of my boys also loved the Ice float !

There are a lot of benches and tables to sit at around the park so there is plenty of room & also lots of sanitizer👍🏽. You do have to keep your mask on while walking around, but that is the usual and everyone was on the same page.

Has anyone gone to the boysenberry festival, if so what did you think? ( There is another month left ! ) or will you be going before it ends? Comment below.
